Sponsoring civilian guests to military campgrounds

We have sponsored dear friends at military FamCamps and neither one of them served and the question about their military careers never came up. We have been staying at FamCamps for 15 years and seldom has anyone asked my husband about his military career. Yes there are discussions about military careers and they are interesting and some not so interesting so you choose to join in or politely excuse yourself. If the FamCamp allows you to sponsor someone then it should not be an issue. Bring your friend with you and have a great time. A little political humor here: let us all remember Donald Trump never served in the military and ask yourself would you sponsor him?

dont limit lack of military to trump, none of the other idiots have served as much as a boy scout and they are our 5th line of defense I believe

I have sponsored a friend to a mil hotel at a campground. No questions were asked and it helped fill the rooms up. He was pleasantly surprised at how nice the campground as well as the hotel was. As noted if they will let you sponsor dont worry about it. People dont need to know just drive on with the non military friend. How many take family members who are not eligible into the PX or commissary? Basically same issue generally no one asks.

This all depends on "sponsored guests" attitude and actions IMO...

1-I've had dependant wives come to my campsite and get verbally stupid at me for telling their kids to go to the park and play after they've awoken me from afternoon naps with their disruptive screaming and yelling or "playing" as nurturing types explain...did they kick out these overly emotional over reacting sponsored dependant wives for breaking the rules of aggressive behavior??? Of course not...i was seen as the bad guy for confronting obnoxious kids not following the rules...

2-GF of a 100% VA guy who wasn't present, but let some GF & her kids live in a RV onbase while he was away some where else violate quite time rules for the silly reasoning "I don't want to be cold driving my diesel truck to work @ 6am in Tampa Florida 1st week of November so I'm gonna wake up the campground by letting a rattle box diesel truck warm up so as the heater blows warm on my legs on my way to work"
Worthless campground host drove past it so I went over asked her why she's being discourteous & breaking the quite time rule??
She goes to not just camp office later but onbase police playing victimized female saying I threatened her??? Camp office said I was being "confrontational" and I should just whine about others to them behind others back or be like a girl, passive aggressive like she was to me LOL....

3-some Vietnam 100%er had a mid 40s man-child (clearly doesn't know wrong from right) whom the 100%er sponsors into tent camping as he doesn't like his manchild sponsored kid staying in his RV due to his sponsored man-child physically fighting with the manchilds white trash derilict non child support paying live in girlfriend?
So the sponsored man-child & girlfriend becomes a nuisance to tent campers, thinks since inefficient mwr campground staff has pity for this dysfunctional family that they allow him to exceed camping limits so he suddenly thinks he has merits of decorated combat disabled veterans...why wouldn't he think this, campground staff treats his loser self as a depedant whom they treat better than decorated combat veterans???

Needless to say, I don't have desire to see unacommpied sponcorsed guests onbase period...you wanna sponsor guests keep them in an arms reach so they aren't a nuisance to base/service members/veterans IMO...

P.S. Macdill CID (criminal investigations division) officer incharge agreed with me about #3 hopefully there will be no more unaccompanied sponsored guests at macdill famcamp, BX or commissary anymore...
