This is a reservation reality.
Made reservation at NAS Lemoore, CA three months in advance. Checked in on scheduled day of reservation arrival. Assigned to site #2 for two days. Moved to site #7 for two days then back to site #2 for remainder of reservation. No amount of argument would work. The computer assignment rules the roost.

Yep, ain't that a hoot. We have had the same problem more than once at Fort Fisher, NC.
"Yes, you can stay seven days but you will have to go on 16 for 2 days, move to 14 for 2 days, and back to 16 for 3 days."
"But lady, that doesn't make sense. Don't that thing have a re-calculate button? Can't you just put the folks scheduled in on site 16 for those 2 days on site 14 instead since you say you don't reserve by site?"
"I'm sorry sir, there is no way to override where the computer tells us to put you."
"Well, you need to shoot the programmer and the contracting officer who bought that software."
I'm still not sure whether they bought stupid software or the office staff is a little slow...or lazy....or both.

Not that I agree or disagree with any type of reservataions policy -- but putting the folks on site #14 (in your example) doesn't work always, because the people you want to put there might be on the site they have for six days. So, the CPU puts the next reservation dates on whatever site is 'unfilled' for that specific date.
Sometimes, because of overlaps on dates requested, it is not possible to put an RV on one site for the exact number of days in a row you'd like. This only happens when the CG is busy and has limited openings, of course.

Here's the way I look at it. Being able to do things like this on installations that are MWR related is a "take it as it is" benefit. It's not a right, it's not an entitlement, and it's not a promise. It's something that is self supporting by the folks that use it and we should "take it as it is" and use it when we get the chance and be thankful that it's there. Some places are better than others, some places are busier than others and we're all not going to get our way all the time. So use it when you can, support it and try to leave it a little better than when you got there. If everyone keeps that up then maybe more improvements will happen there before your next stop there.....or maybe not. But don't take on the idea that this is something that's owed or some sort of right because you will always find some fault with it and never be satisfied because it doesn't meet your expectations..... just "take it as it is".

MWR facilities are developed for equal sharing in priority for all military AD and Retired. Whether an entitlement or not may be debatable, but as long as these facilities are available and when some individuals abuse the system and do not share those benefits equally, then I'd absolutely be one to speak out before "take it as it is" --
If we veterans had "taken it as it is" a few hundred years ago, we'd still be answering to the Queen.
And for the record, I always accept each facility exactly as it is, as long as it's the same rules for everyone.
