Campgrpound Closures - Corona Virus

Camp Blanding, National Guard Training Center in Starke, FL is closed. "Camp Sites for RVs will be opened for existing reservations only. There are no new reservations via the Recreation Department until further notice."

Our reservation for next week at Pelican Roost, Mayport FL, was officially cancelled today.

While extremely disappointed, the safety of those who are actively protecting our country and values is more important to us than a discretionary trip.

On a good note we were able to make reservations at Maxwell Gunter famcamp for Monday 11 May. We usually stay at Maxwell, Arnold, Camp Carlson and Wright Patterson on our way back from Florida, I have a really bad back and can only drive for a few hours a day. The only one taking reservations was Maxwell and they just started today. Here at Oak Grove Park NAS Pensacola they are not taking new reservations until 01 June. My reservation is up 11 May and we are being told we have to be out, period. They did extend us 2 weeks the first time but not this time for some reason and not a lot has changed so I guess we'll figure it out, at least we have Maxwell and I think some states are starting to open up commercial campgrounds to.

I received the following from Peregrine Pines FamCamp at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, CO:

We are now accepting reservations for the summer season.
Please call 719-333-4980 to make a reservation or questions about our COVID policies.
Must have a confirmed reservation, NO drive ups and NO late arrivals, must check in with staff between 12-5pm each day with the confirmed reservation.
Must have a DOD ID card, no civilians guests or companions until further notice.
Famcamp partially open, with sites limited for social distancing.
Tent sites are closed until further notice.
Bathrooms, picnic pavilions and playground closed until further notice.
USAFA requires face covering for all business including check in at the Famcamp.
No get togethers of 10 or more.
30-day maximum stay policy is still in effect, so please plan accordingly.

I've been notified that Onslow Beach at Camp Lejuene in NC will be taking reservations for stays starting May 22.

Some of these campgrounds on the closed list are in fact open. We have friend that are staying at Fiddler's Cove on new reservations. I suspect many others are open too.

Beautiful and the beach and ocean are open as well. Most folks are respecting the rules so I suspect it will stay open.
