From reading, I don't think "rentpayer" really understands the program. It doesn't cost $21 a day for a lot, that's just what campers pay to stay there. Just judging from his username and the content of his post it appears he has an axe to grind.

I noticed a recent Sigsbee review which complained that the daily rate was now $21.00. One must consider that the Private CG, which is farther from town and charges about $100.00 per day for a postage stamp of a campsite. $21.00 per day is a genuine bargain for the area.
This is a copy of a note I posted a week ago. I think it is still appropriate today.
I think if one is dicontented with Sigsbe, one can go elswhere, but not for $21.00

just think if everybody payed their way the campground would benifit fron the extra cash don't you think.just because it is $21 a day doesn't mean that we should pay for the dead weight.I would also think that more people would be concerned about these people not paying taxes on the income they are getting.

Rentpayer,
All your seven posts are complaining about Sigsbee or defending your position. These posts are interspersed with posts which disagree with you. You are convincing no one. If you believe you are "a majority of one", continue, if not, realized you are not "preaching to the choir", you are preaching to yourself, much to the annoyance of others.

I am one of those dreaded host campers and I have weighed in on this discussion before so I will not repeat myself.
I believe that I make a meaningful contribution to the operation of the Onslow Beach Recreation Center at Camp Lejeune. I do not consider myself to be a broken down homeless vet as some have implied. Yes, I receive my site in exchange for my duties. However, if I were paid for the hours that I put in, I would not even make minimum wage.
That being said, I am not complaining. It has been a rewarding position and I think I contribute to the value added that our campers receive. I see myself as a representative of the people who are our guests. As a fellow RVer I make it my job to keep management informed about what we need to do to make our campground more useful to our guests. I have made several recommendations for improvements in our operations that have been suggested by fellow campers. Many people who manage and work at campgrounds are not themselves RVers.
If host campers are so bad, my question is why there are literally thousands of them occupying positions in both the public and private sectors of camping and recreation facilities. Someone some where felt that this was a good idea.
Sometimes it helps to look into an issue from multiple directions before making quick judgments.
