50, 50 split... At the larger campgrounds say 25 or more sites I say yes one or more for the really large ones are needed. But for the small campgrounds no. The base personal should be able to cover it. If any trouble do arise you always have the base police to handle it and being part of the base base personal should keep it up. I have had the displeasure of Coons creek {never again} and Camp Lejune which I found to be very well run and enjoyed my stay and will stay again. I have stayed at Fort Drum, NY.only 4 full sites and 2 dry with only base personal keeping it up and it was very nice clean, and even got free breakfast every morning.

Yes, they are. And Cheldreth, when I was at Onslow Beach last year, no one cleaned the bathrooms during the weekend (at least when I was there). And the mens room was nasty. Crap smeared all over the seat of one toilet the entire weekend, and I stated so on my review of the campground.

Since I was not at Onslow during the time of your report, I have no knowledge of what occurred last year. However, issues of this nature get my immediate attention when discovered or brought to my attention.

I believe that we are now off topic. I am not a homesteader and neither is the retired Marine who works with me. We both earn the meager benefit that is provided.

Did you inform the camp host that there was a problem?

Seems like we should define a "homesteader" if we're gonna answer this question...

SO, homesteaders are basically occupying an RV site beyond the time limit stated in the regulation.

So, if a camp host fills a site and earns that site for the season (or whatever time frame) performing Camp Host duties ( and I mean really perfomring duties) then no, by regulation, the camp host is there to perform a service and earns the site.

The trick is when a "good-ole-boy' friend of the host occupies a site and collects a 'title' that means nothing in the real working nature of the MCG, but claims a long-term site for it, and it is really a farce, then yes ... that RV'er is homesteading.

Yes, Monkey, I agree with your definition. I have had concerns about at least one military campground which I will not name over the number of camp hosts that are there. To me, it almost feels at that camp ground, the camp hosts own and operate the site not the military base on which the camp sits.
