I just read a post about Aviation Arbor in New Orleans that made me think again about this over priced military campground in the D.C. area. Aviation Arbor in New Orleans is also a new military campground that opened in January. Their price is $20 per night. One of our members recently rated them a 9.5 on a 10 point scale. This website's "Facility Reviews" uses a 5 point scale and with multiple reviews it is rated at 4.5. I doubt Brianna's research included campgrounds in desirable tourist destinations like New Orleans.

Looks like there's a legitimate review of this campground posted, but I have to question just how "legitimate" it really is.
The review is given by a new member who apparently hasn't posted anything else. It also seems like the review is apologizing for the high cost of the campground and how this isn't really the fault of the people in charge.
Maybe I'm just getting cynical after dealing with the folks at Ft Belvoir on this matter, but this review smacks of somebody connected with the campground trying to deflect all the criticism rightfully directed their way.

I decided to read the 4 reviews as the last one I read was the drive thru on 6-2. There are more complaints than just the high price and overall rating is 2.9, this does not bode well for a new campground. Comments about tight turns, slide-out difficulties, trash not being removed and of course the price. The turns being tight and utilities placement interfering with slide out will not change and they took years to plan this and still could not get it right. There is no way; even if they lower the price we would go here with our Zephyr as it sounds NOT BIG RIG FRIENDLY!
Aviation Arbor charges a third of the price of FT. Belvoir and when they opened as a new campground the reviews were top notch. Aviation Arbor could have charged $40.00 a night and more as private RV parks in New Orleans are way more than what Aviation Arbor charges.

Don't say that! The prices at Aviation Arbor are perfect the way it is!

Most of the Military Campgrounds charge appropriately based on geographics. Many of us have travelled around the U.S. and stay at military campgrounds whenever one is near us and a site is available if we cannot make a reservation ahead of time. I would venture to say on the average we pay about 25% less at FamCamps and sometimes as much as 60%. You bet Aviation Arbor is perfectly priced and most of the Military Campgrounds are. Just cannot figure out the mentality of the ones behind charging what a private campground charges; do they not realize we use the Military Campgrounds because the price is excellent as well as being able to be on the military installation?
