I remember that Frank and I defended you with a diabtribe about how we all compared prices with most things we purchase or spend on. That is the basis of how Ft. Belvoir decided on their prices so they kicked off the comparison topic again. Speaking of prices I see the commissary prices really are getting out of control, I heard some woman say the last time we went "I can get that can of sauce for less at Publix", yikes! Only buy breads and some produce there and I always thought their prices were high so surprised to hear someone say that.

Happy Fathers Day to you Frank and all you Dads and Grandads out there!

I sure hope the good folks at Fort Belvoir are keeping tabs on this topic to see what the prevailing opinion is regarding their luxury resort. Looks like another less than glowing review of the campground, this time by somebody in the area who admittedly was trying to give the place a good review.

There's only 8 reviews, but not one of them is positive and the complaints are not only about the price. Looks like the powers that be who designed this place had no RVing experience and really screwed the place up. It's too bad...it would have been a great location from which to tour DC.

I see from the News Letter from Larry that Fort Belvoir has dropped their prices. He included a PDF file from Fort Belvoir that shows the sites and the price breakdown. $40 for the back-ins away from the water, $45 for the pull through sites, and $50 for the waterfront sites. Not too bad prices for the D.C. area, I guess. Larry says he doesn't know if it's because of the feedback from us, but I would guess that it was in their minds when they looked around an empty campground all summer, during the height of the D.C. tourist season.

Fair is fair. I'm going to submit a positive ICE comment thanking them for lowering the price, and I will stay there next year when I'm in the area.
