We have (had) base stickers on all our vehicles issued from Tinker AFB here in Oklahoma. They are good until 2009. We recently had to have a new windshield put in the motorhome. They did scrap the old sticker off and gave it to me in an envelope. We have now been notified by Tinker, in their retiree newsletter, that the Air Force is no longer issuing base stickers.
Guess before our next trip out we'll need to stop by the Army base and get a new sticker for the coach. Of course that will be about 100 miles out of our way.

Maybe on your next trip-hope it comes soon for you-make the sticker a priority and make your first stay on a base that still issues them. It would be a reason(if you need one)to visit a specific location. The online option mentioned in this thread has a certificate error for the site where you enter your info which tells me NOT to enter my info and it is regional and seems to be only certain Navy bases. The sticker on the RV took a big bug hit and the location strip has damage that makes my wife nuts. It must have been a pretty big bug. We hope it lasts until we can get back to Onslow Beach.

I stayed at Hill AFB, Utah Oct and Nov and they no longer have stickers and said that they are no longer issued. All people must stop and show military ids for all people in the vehicle or get visitor pass. They said stickers were discontinued in April and will not be issued again.

Now that the USAF has stopped issuing vehicle stickers how much of a problem is it to get a sticker at another installation? The other branches all seem to prefer and/or require a vehicle sticker so visiting those installations has gotten to be more of a PITA. Just wondering if the next time I visit an Army, Navy, or USMC installation if I could get a vehicle sticker from them.

When I got a new car and needed a sticker I stopped at the Army base. I asked them if they were going to follow the Air Force and do away with the stickers. The reply was " the Air Force is NOT following Homeland Security regulations and will have to go back to issueing stickers"
I don't know what the regs are but I guess we will just wait and see. Personally I agree with Air Force. A 100 percent check should be made to all vehicles and persons should be made, not just the driver.
In my observations the navy is very lax here in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Marines were very lax at Camp LeJeune, NC. Army has been the strictest with Air Force close behind.
What have others seen??
