Hi Fellow Military RVers!!
Maybe because tomorrow is the first of April and I'm getting hitch itch, or I'm just getting tired of discussions about homesteading (don't anybody get their panties in a wad...it's only a joke!) I thought this would be a good time to talk about where we're all going this year. I know it's a tough one with the high fuel prices, but I, for one, refuse to sit still!
Monkey44 passed through here a couple of weeks ago and we're going to try and hook up in the Black Hills later this summer. I'm heading to Lott Island in Savannah in two weeks to meet up with another Military Campground member for a week. Then it's up to Pointes West Army CG near Augusta, Georgia for a month with a bunch of other Old Farts from the MCG Forums to swap lies and partake of some adult beverages around the campfire.
The beginning of June I'm taking 4 of my grandkids to Fort Fisher in North Carolina for a week of fun in the sun (I think all of those artillery pieces going off over my head in Vietnam must have loosened my brain a little  ) My Air Force son, who got back from Asscrackistan this past Monday, will be meeting me there with 3 more grandkids. Good thing he's renting a cabin that sleeps 8!
Then I'm heading North to pick up a friend of mine and we're heading out to the Black Hills and Yellowstone for a while. On the way back we're going to stop in Ohio and tour the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the NFL Hall of Fame. Drop my friend off in New York and visit friends and family near Noo Yawk City. I'll probably use Round Pond at West Point as my FOB. Then head back to Georgia at the end of the summer.
So what about Y'all?? Where are you headed this year??

Mostly local camping. But, we plan to head to the west coast to visit my brother and his family in Roseville, Oregon. Be gone about a month and we plan to camp at MC as often as possible. We do enjoy staying at MC because they are ususally well run. I haven't made my itinerary yet, but I'm getting the itch to get at it.

Been on the road (southwest) since we left Sarge in Georgia ... spent three weeks in Texas (Big Bend, great again) and now in El Paso taking a short break to stock up and rest up from all this fun.
Planning next to NM, AZ, Ut, CO, (Hook up with Roger again?) Wy, Dakotas (Hook up with Sarge again?), Cape Cod, and then eventually back to Florida to recover ... if any of you MCG guys are in those areas, let us know and we'll touch paws across a campfire ... Monkey & Genie

We have already done a weekend at Guntersville and are looking forward to heading out in a couple of weeks for a two week vacation. I still can't runaway for long periods.
Planning on heading down to the Gulf the mosey over to Kyle, Texas to see my sister. Then mosey back. The operative word is MOSEY. Two or three days in Kyle should be enough time. I feel the need for shrimp and amber jack.
We're also planning some three day weekends through out the summer in the Tennessee\George\Carolina area. Lots of places to go and lots to see. Want to go back to the Opry and another weekend at Guntersville SP this summer, too.
