I'm sorry Doneitall, that wo.. wor...(I can't say it!) really cuts into your leisure time. :(

On the other hand, being retired isn't for sissies either...we NEVER get a day off! :)

Cheer up though, it won't last forever. Just don't make the mistake of working until you're too old to do anything. I know too many of our brothers who kept putting it off until one day there was no tomorrow. Have some fun while you still can and join us on the road!

Have a great time this summer and drive safely!!

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!

We went to Alaska in 2009. Wonderful trip and plan to do it again soon. I've attached a copy of my trip report. Perhaps it will give you some ideas. Drive safely, and slowly.

Great trip report Linda!! Sounds like you guys had a ball.

Alaska is one of the trips still on my To-Do list. Maybe one of these days? ;)

Leaving in about an hour on the start of my summer trip (if I can get these kids awake and moving! )

I'm headed to Fort Fisher in North Carolina for a week with the grandkids, then heading out west to the Black Hills. I think I'll need some R&R after a week with the munchkins.

I'll be checking in from time to time and posting some pics of the trip. Everybody get out and enjoy yourselves this summer! :woohoo:

This summer it is pretty much stay close to home and watch the garden weeds grow. This fall it is either off to Myrtle Beach or the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Just not sure which place to head for. The Grand Canyon trip would have to be a long one while the one to MB would only entail a day and a half of driving.

Headed to Michigan UP. If you have never been there you need to put it on your bucket list. The Might Mac bridge is site to behold. At one time it was the largest suspension bridge in the world. It connects Michigan Lower Peninsula to the Upper Peninsula. The you have the Sault Saint Marie,Michigan and the Soo Locks. You can take a boat ride thru the locks. Once over the bridge you can take US 2 west along Lake Michigan's shore line . It is a super nice drive. Or you can head up to Lake Superior's shore line and camp right by the lake. Plenty of golf available and casinos if you like them.
