Hey JJ...if you guys take your time heading back the leaves might be covered with snow. Then you can just turn around and stay in the Southwest for the winter! :cheer:

I'm not only new to this board, I'm new to RV-ing. I bought a 33-foot Class A when I lost my FAA medical, and I have been on the road every month since. My grandkids live in Michigan and I live in Florida, so I have been tearing up the I-95/I-77 corridor, staying at Lott's Island and a KOA in Wytheville, VA. Planning to try a new route in September when I go up for my littlest grand-daughter's first birthday. I'm going I-95/I-10/I-65, then take a short run on I-71 to I-75. Planning to stay at Maxwell-Gunter AFB and Camp Carlson at Ft. Knox.

Well, it looks like the summer trip is coming to an end. Heading home on Thursday after about 3 months on the road, a broken spring and a burned out wheel bearing on the camper. :(

It's been a great trip though, and it's been fun reading on here about everybody's trips and travels. Great to see we have some new RVers getting out there too!

I've still got one more trip planned for the year...a couple of weeks in October at Pelican Roost in Mayport, FL, a week at Foster Creek in Charleston, SC, then headed to Pointes West Army Resort in Appling, GA for our month long Fall Get Together with some of the forum members on here.

We'll be arriving there on the 31st of October and everybody is cordially invited to join us for as long as you want. There's usually a lot of open spaces there in November, and they will take reservations. You can't miss us...either look for the pirate flag or listen for the Happy Hour bell around 4 o'clock!

If anybody's interested, PM me and I'll forward all the information to you.

Happy traveling!

John

Were headed to Michigan's UP in two weeks along with the two dogs. Going to Brimley area first for 10 days then over to Indian Lake near Manistique, Mi for another two weeks. There is lots to see and do in the area. Wife just retired Friday so we are looking forward to first extended trip.
