Hey Mike!

Keep an eye out for us...we'll be in Pelican Roost from the 10th through the 24th of October and Foster Creek in Charleston from the 24th through the 31st. Listen for the Happy Hour Bell around 4 o'clock and join in the fun!

Have a safe trip!

Well, we bought an older camper this year after looking at the cost of a camper shell that would fit the Dodge. Didn’t realize that; 1. Pickup beds are different sizes between brands, and 2. That newer pickup beds are made of used beer cans. Anyway, here is our schedule for the rest of the year.
We plan on leaving Fallon about 15 Oct and wandering our way down through Vegas, Bullhead City AZ, Yuma AZ, and Ajo AZ.
We plan on Leaving Ajo AZ on about the 21st or 22nd of October 2012, and work our way down the coast, arriving at the La Piñeta RV park on either the 31st of Oct. or 1 Nov. We will take our time and stop when we feel like it and may spend more than two days if we like it. We will stop at Anna and Edgars in Santa Ana Son. the 1st night; travel to Bahia Kino for the second and maybe third night, from there to Guaymas at the El Cortez for at least two nights, Huatabampito for a night or two, Celistino, for a day or two, into San Blas and probably Playa Amor, and then to La Piñeta. There may be possible side trips to anything that catches our fancy. If you feel you can travel with our unstructured wandering, one or two rigs will be welcome to wander along with us.

We'll keep an eyeball peeled for you, We haven't heard back about reservation @ Pelican Roost yet. We'll probably be at James Island County Park in Charleston, your might like to look that one over yourself.

Mike: One of the couples that are going with us to Charleston have stayed at James Island. Their pictures looked great and I might try it sometime with my grandkids. We're just looking for some down time on this trip with maybe a couple of trips into town for sightseeing and shopping and I'm hooking up with an old army buddy of mine who lives there now. Foster Creek is a really nice campground too, and it's hard to beat 15 bucks a night when compared to James Island at $40! :woohoo:

Try giving Pelican Roost a call in the morning. The phone number is (904) 270-7808. I was able to get right through and they took the reservation over the phone. $20 deposit for a 2 week stay.

Stan: sounds like you've got a great winter trip planned. It's been years since I've traveled much in Mexico and I'm still leery of crossing the border with all this drug cartel mess going on. Keep us posted on your trip and let us know the real story about traveling in Mexico now.

For those between Ga and Va you should think of stopping by the South Of the Border in Dillion S.C., yes it was losing it's gandure a while back when the family was fighting over the money but within the last lear or 2 the Grandson took it over and is really getting it back to it's peak, The rate is $24 with a AARP card and we all have that, and 90% of the sites are FHUs and 50 Amp, not bad for $24, a skip and a hop to Uptown South of The Border Park, the truckstop has a great Chicken Fried Steak Dinner, and a Mexican Resturant with Super Hot sauce, a Waffle house is right down the street under I-95 and Dillion has a Walmart 10 miles down the road. Give it a revisit, oh yeah now they have a Mototorcross track where you can watch folks ride their dirt bikes for free.

We are retired, restless to be so many places, so we have just purchased our first motor home-a Fleetwood Bounder 36E. We pulled a 22 Coachman when our 4 were little, sold it, life stayed busy w 4 kids, moving around- no more camping. Now that we are settled and retired, kids married, 11 grandchildren , we are ready to do OUR thing. Love the suggestions of where you are all going. Looks like hardest thing will be where to go first. Plan close in trips until we are totally comfortable with the process of owning of a class A motor home, but we will be out there soon! Great to know so much knowledge is out there to draw from...
