Where's everybody headed this year?

We've got a reservation for Fort Myers Beach for the month of May. Later in the summer we plan to head up the east coast, probably as far as the Poconos. We had planned to continue up to Maine but fuel prices have affected our plans. In Jersey we plan on a week or two at Earle Naval Ammunition Depot. One of few famcamps in the area and in a good location.

We just got home from a winter foray southbound. Met Monkey44 in JAX when we stayed at Mayport on the way down. Enjoyed Fla for about 6 wks with a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale along the way. Got home to NJ to cool early spring weather at the end of March. Heading out west later towards the end of Summer.

Currently, at Mayport until the 15th...then it's the "mad dash" to PA where we'll do the drs. appts. at the VA, visit with the relatives and spoil the grand-kids til mid-June....then a little more north to visit more relatives until mid-July....at which time we'll head west. Our plan is to hit SD with all that is to see in "The Badlands", etc.....then to visit sister & family in WY, using her home as base to do Yellowstone. Then Montana, NV, AZ,NM,TX, etc. heading East. Now this isn't all being done really fast...we plan to take our time and stay awhile at each place. We've been planning this trip for 2 yrs., so will go even with the "Yucky" gas prices....just will stay longer at our stops. We figure we'll be back in the FL/GA area about the same time next year.

Would love to meet up with any of you along the way.

If you're in the area in October, there's a bunch of us that meet up at Pointes West Army Resort in Appling, Georgia every year...sort of an "end of the summer" last get together. You're welcome to join us!

Dang...I keep missing everybody along the way by just weeks!!

Looks like there's a few of us heading out to the Dakotas and Yellowstone, but you folks are going later in the summer...I'll be out there in June. PA in the beginning of July and I won't get there until the END of the summer. :laugh:

Everybody have a great trip and drive safely! Hope to meet up with y'all somewhere along the road (if I can ever get my calendar to cooperate.)
