I agree, it makes it difficult for some to require stickers and others not. IF they would make it DOD wide, that would be fine. EXCEPT this excuse that it is now 100% ID check is WRONG. I made a trip to Kirtland AFB in my passenger car, with my sis. I called the base, explaining I am a dependent of a retired Marine, to see if there would be any problem getting her on base. I was told no as long as she had pic ID. We pulled up to the gate, no sticker on the car, and they looked at my ID and NEVER asked to see hers. In this day and age, I would think they need to be much more careful who gets on base. 9/11, remember?

Along the same lines, it is a horrible they are not checking IDs at the commissary or PX. When asked about it, the manager said because you have to have an ID to get on base. REALLY??? Have seen many occasions of dependents shopping for friends or family members along with them. This is one of the benefits our guys were promised in return for serving our country. Civilians should NOT be allowed.

The canceling of isuing Decals is a base to base issue and yes money is a issue, but you can request one anyway because some bases like Dam neck in Va Beach has a sign that says "No decal No Access". I still get one for all my vehicles.
