clayandloralee, Active duty folks and their families have no bigger supporters than military retirees. I think most retirees would agree with everything you said. I believe I read on here once about an active duty family that was gaming the system by collecting BAQ but not having a permanent residence and living in a military campground. I might even be OK with that if there were some special hardship reason but in general, I don't think that's what the campgrounds are for. I'll gladly get at the back of every line in favor of our active duty brothers and sisters.

We are still in Uchee Creek as we extended for a second week and I sent the updated Reservation Rules to Larry F. as the written rules are clear and followed from what we see. A 30 day stay and a second 30 day stay is now the maximun in the RV sites and then you have to get out for a minimum of 7 days so other travelling RV'ers can use the campground. The base CO will give an order to allow Active Duty or TDY to stay a maximum of 6 months in the campground and then they are out. There are several AD or TDY in the new section right now and their sites are orderly and neat. These rules to me comply with their written rule NO HOMESTEADING PERMITTED. This is a very large campground with between 70 to 80 RV sites and about 30 to 40 cabins and chalets to rent and about half of the RV sites are full right now so staying here 30 days during the winter months is a really nice option for us. This is a good example of good management of a military campground and it gives the RVer who uses the RV to travel and explore an opportunity to do so for a reasonable period of time.

Go to contact us and this will send an email to Larry, and I agree the cover article is right on point and all of the Homesteaders should feel their abusive behavior of priveledges by homesteading and move on. Again Great Cover Article

I finally have an internet connection. We just left Keesler Famcamp and if you want to observe homesteading that's the place to go. We were there I think 4 years ago and I swear the same old Winnebago that was there then is still sitting there.

I finally read the article about homesteading. I've read reviews this lady has written and she is so full of it. Now I'm in trouble. Every "RV" she talks about being in the class of homesteading or noisy or trashy is either a 5th wheel or travel trailer or something other that her "coach". One comment by her was "Who wants to be parked next to a 5th wheel with 5 kids and a barking dog?". I would like to ask her "Who wants to be parked next to any "RV" under these conditions?" In her article she has two photos of trashy sites and both are occupied by 5th wheels. She also likes to say that retirees spend 100,000 dollars or more for their "coaches" and don't want to be parked next to these "RVs". I don't know if she has been shopping for a 5th wheel and 1 ton truck lately but I have 120,000 dollars tied up in my pair. So you can see I'm not too impressed with what this lady writes.
