Despite the fact that they are good for four years, I’ve had to replace the sticker on my motor home three times in as many years. It gets weathered and beat up by being outside in the elements. It also is a pain to climb a ladder and put it in the top middle of the windshield as required by my nearest installation. So this year I decided to laminate the three pieces and just drop that in the left lower front inside of the windshield. I’ve been thru at least half dozen gates this year and have not been questioned. So for those that don’t enjoy climbing a ladder to the top of the coach, this might be a solution.

I've been told, (ahmmm), that insurance cards will become a thing of the past. It seems that Insurance company's are required to electronically notify the states of insurance status of a particular vehicle when registered for a license. They don't even ask if it's insured anymore, at least in Podunk, where I'm from. If Insurance is dropped against a particular VIN number then the state is notified, and guess what? Your Tags are pulled and you become a fugitive.......and a warrent goes out.... Now that does not stop the guy who is out to deceive the whole system. VIN numbers have been know to be altered. But, according to Officials there's really no need to show any proof of insurance at a gate. Only your ID. If the vehicle were not insured, supposedly, you wouldn't have a tag....
Just thought I'd throw that out.

Same here.. sort of.. first vehicle to be converted to Ft. Belvoir * has the sticker, as instructed in the center of the windshield, it's the big boy F-350 and is very difficult to get up to the sticker.. second vehicle was the Toyota, well past experience had shown that the wipers hit the sticker in the center of the Toyota windshield so I placed it in the lower left.. nothing has been said bu the Army gate guards..

F-350 will move down to the corner when it's renewed.. it's a sight to watch some of the gate guards try and read the sticker way way up on the windshield..

* Ft. Belvoir is my closest military installation.. I acquired my first Army sticker from them when I needed one and just didn't have the time to drive to Bethesda or the Navy Yard (could do Ft. Belvior at lunch) I was a little skeptical venturing off into the unknown, had never had dealings with the Army before.. well.. they have been wonderful.. treat me like a guest, never a problem..

I believe most bases require a base sticker, I have heard some don't. To be sure you don't to stop for a vistors pass it would be best to get one. You would be covered on all bases/
