Active duty Navy here. We just bought our first 5er, and can't wait to get on the road with it. First trip, Oceana on the 13th of Feb, and then down to Camp Lejeune at the end of Feb. We're excited and can't wait.

Just looked back over this topic and can't believe I didn't reply back then. Retired from US Coast Guard as a W4 Weapons Specalist in Feb 1997 with 30 years 2 months service, (4 Navy, 26 CG). We started fulltiming in 2005 after I re-retired at age 62 and did that for 4 years, spending 4 - 5 months each winter in an RV park 40 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico. Stopped fulltiming in 2009 for health reasons and settled back in Fallon NV. Both got our health under control in the summer of 2011 and had missed Mexico so much that we signed back on the caravan to La Penita and have spent the last two winters back down there, and plan on going back as long as we can. We haven't used too many military campgrounds, we used to like to spend a couple of weeks at Admiral Baker and Fiddelers Cove, when it was open, in San Diego and I had relatives in Vegas so spent time in Nellis. Our travels didn't take us by too many military campgrounds, and back before they remodeled it, the campground at Fallon was a dump so when we passed through we stayed at a local place. We have also utilised Passport America, as they seem to be in more spots by our travels.

Me to how did I miss this thread?
Retired Navy Senior Chief Aircraft Structural Mechanic 22 yrs, got inured bad before before I could accept the CWO2 commission so I retired. Truly wish I could have worked it out and stayed longer. I really liked my job and would have loved my prospective assignment, then
Army contractor for 2 years
now 100% DAV
we use MCG, and corp of engineer parks, we also have a thousand trails membership( was real good, but now not so much, but I still have 6 years worth of use coming to me)a few private parks here and there
Best MGC so far is Ft Sam Houston, and Oak Grove Pensacola
Best COE..Murray lock and dam (little rock, Maumelle)
We built a big rv port and use it as our home base for doc visits and maintenance, then we try to be on the road about 4 weeks then home for 3-4
this summer we are stretching it to 8 weeks gone to see South Dakota and the surrounding areas
