Going to revive this topic for some useful info.

If you have not done so you should have your pet chipped - Thats a little computer chip placed under the skin that can be read by just about all Vets in North America these days. Our cat has had one for six years and it is still working as advertised. We have it checked whenever he is in a Vets office.

Just got the cat his annual check-up so thought I'd post it.

I have to agree on the pet issue, not some but a lot of Miltary RVers think their pets are people and allow them to bark, P---, Poop, and bark all day at their site and sometimes your site and since they are use to it, they don't see nothing wrong when you have an issue against it. Some comply with the leash policy not Law, but those pet owners don't understand it until they are on a site next to someone who has left the barking dog inside the RV and he is telling the world they want out. My finally comment on this is a small dog or cat is ok but WHY, again I say WHY would anyone want to share a RV with 2 Great Danes this size or 4 medium size dogs, aaaaa where do they sleep, If I going to pay over $150,000.00 for a coach, well the dogs will be at home until we get back, that's what your grown kids are for to come over to your house once a day to check on them, you did it for years so now it's your turn for pay back (just joking).

Forgive me, but I would like to add just one more post on this contentious subject. As several have previously stated, the dogs are “just animals” and they will poop and pee like all animals, as the urge strikes them. Owners, however are a completely different subject. As a camp host, I am sick and tired of telling Mr. and/or Mrs. dog owner that the dog walk area is over there!!! Are they blind and/or deaf, because I always tell folks at check-in where the run is located – it is very large and grassy, and there are SEVERAL signs indicating its location? Additionally, because we also have a large and grassy tent area, I tell them at check-in to NOT walk their dogs in that area (the area is also signed), because kids like to run around bare foot and . . ., you get the picture. As both a dog owner and a camp host, I sympathize with both sides of this argument, but given a choice, were it within my authority, I would eject all who transgress on the first offense!! JMVHO - Let the flames begin!

The other interesting side to this is:

I've had a dog or dogs most of my life until recently. Most pet owners are great, and interesting to know.

But one thing seems to go hand-in-hand... most of the time, when I meet 'dog people", the ones that allow the dog to dump anywhere and bark anytime continuously, are most generally people that I wish I hadn't met right after I meet them -- must be a personality issue ...
